In my classroom I've experimented with two types of video conferencing connections: hardware based and internet based.
*Hardware-based video conferencing requires traditional video conferencing equipment (ex: Polycom) and a fast internet connection.
*Software-based video conferencing requires a computer, camera, microphone, fast internet connection, and downloaded video conferencing software such as: Skype, iChat, AIM, OoVoo, and CU-SeeMe, etc.
